Corona Virus (COVID-19) Ministry Plan for Christ Church of the Valley
Wow it is crazy to see how much has changed in our world in such a short time period. I trust and believe that God is still working in and around us. The world is hurting and is reeling from the effects of the Corona virus but God is in control, and has always been in control. With these uncertain times it is easy to fixate on circumstances and lose sight of what God is doing. Our desire as an elder team is to continue to encourage you and remind you of what we know to be true about God.
How we connect with one another will look different for the next few weeks. We will be using technology to connect through video conferencing, email, videos, texts, and phone calls.
I believe God will use this season to grow us in our love and dependence on Jesus and our love for one another. It also makes the world seem a little bit smaller by giving us the opportunity to connect with people that are not currently in the Cashiers Area.
Our church mission continues to give every man, woman, and child the repeated opportunity to see, hear, and respond to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The nature and purpose of the Church has not changed, even though the circumstances of life around us have for this season. Your call remains to live a life that participates in the mission of God. To be a missionary in the places the Lord has sovereignly put you has not changed, even though who you are interacting with daily and weekly might look a bit different for a season.
Your ability to speak, text, and post about HOPE in the midst of hopelessness and REST in the midst of chaos and SELFLESSNESS in the midst of selfishness and TRUTH in the midst of uncertainty is at your fingertips and in your voice because of who you are in Jesus Christ. Share it!

Sunday Morning Gatherings
For the time being, “Church” will be in homes throughout the Cashiers Area (and the world). During this time, we will NOT have worship gatherings at The Cross Roads (118 Highway 64); instead, we will gather Online. On Sunday mornings we will email out a link to our worship service, and post it on our Church Facebook page at our normal worship time of 10:45am. We with gather online and sing a few songs and listen to God’s word be taught.
Sunday Bible Study
At 10:30am we will gather online for Bible Study in the Book of John, via zoom (https://us04web.zoom.us). Ken Lucas will be leading the study and be discussing John chapter 3 beginning this Sunday, March 22. This is a test run of doing Bible study online with the hope of creating a study for both men and ladies via zoom. Please allow grace as we navigate this new platform of studying God’s word and sharing it with others.
Giving
We understand that this is a stressful time financially for many. People are having trouble making ends meet and are honestly worried about paying their bills. As a church we want the community to know that God cares about them and their needs. Our desire as a church is to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community. There may never be a better time to communicate the life changing message of Jesus in a world filled with uncertainty and despair.
The way we give our offerings will also change. There will be two options. You can give online by visiting:
https://cashiers.churchcenter.com/giving
or
by mailing your offering to:
Christ Church of the Valley
PO Box 2863, Cashiers, NC 28717
Thank you for your continued support and prayers during this time. We are blessed with a giving church and are blessed that God has positioned us to be able to help the community during this time of need.
